The number of people staying in Airbnb listings across the UK has shot up a staggering 80% since Summer 2017, which in turn has generated an estimated £3.46 billion for local economies, new data has revealed.
The home sharing site which operates in more than 65,000 cities across the globe stated that the typical average UK host now earns around £3,000 per year hosting for an average of 36 nights. Thanks to those hosts guests are spending an average of £147 a day in the local community.
Every region in the UK now has at least 2,000 listings with around 64,000 in London which makes the UK the fifth largest geography for Airbnb listings. Visitor spending has increased to a record £91 million in the last year and looks set to increase yet again with a further increase in the number of visitors, particularly from China with 54,000.
